The News

It has recently come to my attention that our little secret has become the cliche, "worst kept secret". In light of this, here is the official announcement:

We are moving to Seattle June 1st. Our house goes on the market here in Parker on April 1st.

Nate will be transferring to the Seattle office of the accounting firm he works for. If you didn't know, Nate and I both grew up in Seattle and both of our parents and extended family live there. We got married and moved to Colorado a week later (a few months shy of 5 years ago). The decision to move closer to our family was one we really struggled with. We have lived in Colorado long enough to have some wonderful friends and roots, and it's all we have ever known as a married couple. We are excited, scared, lots of emotions as you can imagine. I'm pretty conflicted about this massive change about to come into our life. The rational part of me knows it will all work out, and it will just get done somehow. But the thought of moving our family halfway across the country and selling this house, and trying to buy a new one...it's pretty overwhelming.

So, for those who are wondering what took us so long to come out with it? We were just trying to avoid reality and "face the music" as long as possible. Personally, I just wanted to be normal and talk about normal things as long as possible. I didn't want every conversation I had for six months in a row to be about us moving, which is just naturally what happens with these big life changes. People are curious! I would be too if one of my friends was moving.

FAQ:

Have you bought a house in Seattle yet? No. We will start looking at places in Seattle once our house goes under contract here.

Where are you going to live in Seattle? We are trying to stay somewhere on the Eastside (Renton, Newcastle, Issaquah, Bellevue). If you have any leads, let us know!

When do you officially leave? Undetermined. Nate has to start work in Seattle June 1st, but depending on how fast our house sells here, it could be sooner.

There you go. News out.

I'm a lame blogger

Well It looks like it's time for an update, I can't believe 10 months have flown by since we got married. Here are some semi recent pictures...

New Year's date...Before and After. We ate wayyyy to much.

Nate's 1000 pice puzzle

Nate's First Christmas at my mom's house, I think that smile might be fake. For anyone who knows my family, you may understand why. We're a loud bunch.

My little bro Cameron at Christmas. Man, I miss this kid! He's growing up so fast!

Snowmobiling at my Dad's cabin.

Hopefully more to come later... I intend to actually update this thing more often

About time? Yes...

So this is our first entry since I made this blog over a month ago. Things have been very busy since we got married and moved out here to Denver. I'm not much of a "journaler" so I'm guessing blogging will be much of the same way but we'll see how I do. This weekend Nate and I went up to Pike's Peak down by Colorado Springs and went to this cool place called Garden of the Gods. It's this beautiful rock garden with these huge red rock faces. If I figure out how to post pictures there will be some here. Nate and I also made friends with this couple in our ward. We both moved in the same weekend and got married a week apart...and they live across the street in a different apartment complex. So needless to say they have become good friends. After hiking around Garden of the Gods we went over there for my first experience with the Wii video game thing. I didn't think much about it, until I woke up very sore this morning! The Wii is a workout. There is this tennis game that was intense. My shoulder is killing me. But...I was told I was a little too into it, and it was funny to watch. I may also incriminate myself with pictures. We'll see...
